"Interweb" is a song by Poppy. It served as the fourth single from her debut studio album Poppy.Computer and is the ninth track on the album. It was released on July 17th, 2017 alongside an audio video which currently has over 1 million views. The music video was released on July 21st, 2017 and currently has over 5 million views on YouTube.
The song was performed live on television on The Late Late Show with James Corden on August 2nd, 2017.
Background
The first was announced by Poppy's label at the time, Mad Decent, through their X (formerly Twitter) account on July 15th, 2017, the title and artwork were revealed as well as the release date, which was on July 17th, 2017 through a premiere at Zane Lowe's World Record on Beats 1 at 9:30AM PT, after the premiere, it would be released on streaming platforms alongside an audio video.[1]
A radio exclusive remix made by Landis was released on October 8th, 2017. A second remix, this time made by Nebbra, was released as the first track of the Poppy.Remixes EP. This remix was released to all streaming platforms on March 16th, 2018 along with the EP.
Theme
In an interview, Poppy explains that "Interweb" is about how others watch her YouTube videos and become obsessed with her, getting hooked or caught.[citation needed]
